Mais prendre quelque chose qui n'est pas a soi, c'est encore plus mal. Les gens bien ne font pas cela.

Depuis 2 jours, le desk nous demande de montrer nos badges en plus du "swipage" necessaire a ouvrir la porte. Alors nous, comme on se plie aux regles du jeu, on le fait sans trop poser de questions. On a bien compris qu'il fallait pas trop poser de questions.
Mais deja, des bruits de couloirs circulent, des petits chuchotements et des regards en coin a la sortie des toilettes. On parle de vol et d'objet de valeur derobe. Le mystere plane. On pense donc a ses amis, a son ordinateur, son IPod, son appareil numerique. Que nenni, tout est bien la.
S'agit-il peut etre de la tele ecran geant du RdC? Non plus, elle est la.
Le mystere est donc reste entier jusqu'a ce petit mail d'explication ce matin :

Dear Tenley Campus Residents,

Recently, a very expensive Washington Semester Banner has turned up missing. It was the banner that greeted you when you first came to American University on orientation day in the Constitution/Federal Lobby. If you know of the whereabouts of this banner, please come and let me know as soon as possible. If you have the banner, please return it to the Washington Semester office or its rightful place on the wall. Please do so and there will be no penalties to you or anyone else housed on this campus.

If the banner does not turn up by the end of the semester, unfortunately we will have to charge everyone housed on this campus immediately for its disappearance. This means that a stop will be placed on your account until the charge is paid. Which means, for Washington Semester students, your grades will not be released to your home school until the charge is paid. For students returning it American University in the spring, you will not be able to register for classes

I know this seems drastic, but stealing is not something we take lightly here. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the banner, please come forward or just return it anonymously, and there will be no penalty issued.

I trust that you will do the right thing.
